Privacy Policy

MONOLITH is a paid iPhone camera app created by Rushabh Patel, trading as Atelier Patel. This policy explains what information we collect, what we do not collect, how App Store purchases fit into that picture, and how we handle data from the MONOLITH website, beta requests, and support channels.

1. Who We Are

MONOLITH is operated by Rushabh Patel, a sole proprietor trading as Atelier Patel. For the purposes of this policy, Rushabh Patel is the controller of the personal information described here when that information is collected through the MONOLITH app, the MONOLITH website, beta access forms, and direct support communications.

Atelier Patel is the brand name used for MONOLITH and related public-facing materials. This policy applies to the MONOLITH iPhone app, the MONOLITH pages at monolith.atelierpatel.com, and related communications such as beta invitations, roadmap updates you explicitly request, and support emails. It does not govern information collected independently by Apple, the App Store, iCloud, or other third-party platforms under their own policies.

2. What We Collect

Information you provide directly

If you request beta access on the MONOLITH website, contact us for support, or email feedback, we collect the information you choose to provide. That usually means your email address and the contents of your message.

App usage and diagnostic information

MONOLITH may collect limited technical and usage data needed to run, maintain, and improve the app. This may include an install identifier, app version, device model, iOS version, language or region settings, performance events, crash reports, and high-level usage counts such as tone selections or feature usage frequency.

We aim to keep this information aggregated, pseudonymous, or otherwise not directly identifying wherever practical. It is used to understand whether features work, whether certain devices are unstable, and which parts of the app need attention.

Purchase-related information

MONOLITH is a paid App Store product. Apple processes payment, taxation, refunds, and most billing operations. We do not receive your full payment card number or banking details. Apple may provide limited purchase status or transaction context needed to confirm that a purchase exists, comply with accounting obligations, or respond to support issues.

Permissions and device access

MONOLITH only works properly when you grant the iOS permissions needed for the features you choose to use. For example, camera access is needed to capture images and photo library access may be needed if you choose to save or export work through the system photo library. Permission prompts are managed by iOS and can be changed later in Settings.

3. What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not upload your photos, videos, or camera roll contents to our servers just because you use MONOLITH.
  • We do not sell, rent, or broker personal information.
  • We do not use MONOLITH as an ad-targeting product and we do not run third-party ad SDKs inside the app.
  • We do not receive your complete payment card details from Apple.
  • We do not request access to data that is unrelated to the app's core camera and support functions.

4. How We Use Data

We use the information covered by this policy to:

  • operate core app features and honour the permissions you choose to grant;
  • diagnose crashes, performance regressions, and device-specific bugs;
  • improve tone rendering, camera controls, onboarding, and product quality based on aggregate usage patterns;
  • manage beta invitations, release notifications, and support requests you ask us to handle;
  • maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Where applicable under local law, we process information because it is necessary to provide the service you asked for, because you consented to a particular interaction such as submitting your email, because we have legitimate interests in maintaining and improving the app, or because we must comply with legal obligations.

5. How Data Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it in limited situations such as these:

  • with Apple and App Store infrastructure to distribute the app and manage purchases, updates, and refunds;
  • with service providers who help us run the MONOLITH website, forms, diagnostics, or support workflows, subject to appropriate confidentiality and processing obligations;
  • if disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security;
  • as part of a reorganisation, merger, or asset transfer, if MONOLITH's business operations ever change hands.

If data is processed outside your country of residence, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected under applicable law and under the contracts we use with service providers.

6. Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose it was collected, including support, beta access management, legal compliance, and product security.

  • Email addresses submitted for beta access are kept while the beta or release communication list remains active, unless you ask us to remove them earlier.
  • Support emails and related records are kept for as long as needed to resolve the issue and maintain a usable support history.
  • Diagnostic and usage data is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to improve stability, investigate issues, and maintain the service, after which it may be deleted or kept only in aggregated form.

If a dataset is anonymous or aggregated in a way that no longer identifies you, we may keep it for analytics and product planning because it no longer functions as personal information.

7. Your Choices And Rights

You can control a number of privacy choices directly:

  • You can deny or revoke app permissions through iOS Settings.
  • You can choose not to submit the beta access form or contact us by email.
  • You can ask us to delete or correct direct-contact records such as support emails or mailing-list entries by emailing contact@atelierpatel.com.
  • You can use Apple's own account and App Store tools for purchase-related choices that Apple controls.

Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of certain personal information. We will honour valid requests as required by applicable law. In some cases, we may need to verify your identity before acting.

If the information in question is anonymous, aggregated, or not reasonably linked back to you, we may not be able to identify a specific record to edit or delete.

8. Children's Privacy

MONOLITH is not directed to children under the age at which consent is required in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner that would require parental consent without first obtaining it. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us improperly, contact us and we will investigate.

9. Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app, the website, or the law changes. When that happens, we will revise the effective date above. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to make the update visible, which may include an in-app notice, a website update, or both.
